Thursday July 21 was the start of the marathon family vacation.
Everyone got up at 6am and piled into the Honda for the drive to Myrtle Beach. They stopped in Lumberton, North Carolina for lunch at Friendly's and to stop at Radio Shack for a charger for Sam's DVD player. They arrived at Aunt Jo and Dave's house around 4:30. Then they headed off to the beach for a short while and had a barbecue dinner back at the house
Dad and Pete slept in the bed, since they were pretty allergic to Betsy and Birch. As you can see, Sam didn't mind playing with Betsy:
Sam and Mom slept on a combination of chairs/floor in the office.
