Fighting Entropy

One of the challenges of parenting is trying to clean up a room while Sam works against you to keep it messed up. (Actually, he doesn't do this so much anymore - it is more of a memory from when he was 1 or 2. ) While you are cleaning, he is making more of a mess. So you have to work to clean faster than he can un-clean. It is a bit like trying to walk up a down escalator. It can be done, but takes time and hard work.

The reason I bring up the above, is that I've recently observed a similar phenomenon when raking leaves. You need to try to gather them faster than Sam can re-distribute them.
