Red Devils

Sam played basketball again this past Winter. Sam came up with the name for the team, which was the "Red Devils". He had some other team name suggestions, but the Coach did not think that sort of language was appropriate.

The other players on Sam's team were Justin, Anthony, Tyler, Kyle, Lily, Andrew, Carter, Joshua, and Marley. Justin's Dad was the Coach. Justin was the best player in the league, and the team only lost or tied about 2 games during the regular season.

In this picture just before the start of the semi-final game, you can see Sam, with Justin at the top and Coach Boggs in the background:

In the playoffs, Sam's team needed to beat the purple team to make it to the championship game. They were ahead by 5 points at the break going into the final 4 minutes, so things were looking good. However, Justin's Mom yelled something at the officials. The league director ejected her from the gym, but she refused to leave. The director sad that if she didn't leave, the game would be a forfeit. She continued yelling at the director, so the game was declared a forfeit. The purple team got in their cars and drove off before anyone could re-consider this decision. When they decided to resume play, the purple team was gone. This was the end of Sam's basketball season.

Below is a picture of Justin's Mom continuing to argue with the league director, after the teams for the next game had already taken the court:

Up until this last game, Sam had a fun season.

Update 12/2/12
===============================
Per request in comments, I removed the name and picture of the parent.

It is true that the director eventually decided to allow the game to continue, but the purple coach had intentionally removed his team from the gym and sped off, presumably either for the safety of the team or so they could be sure to secure the victory by forfeit.

Well I think its very interesting that considering you don't know me from adam and have no idea what really went on that night, that you think its appropriate to talk about the situation and post a picture of me. Maybe you should check your facts before putting gossip out on the internet. So since you decided to post incorrect information, let me set the record straight. Kim, the league director flew out of the stands and inappropriately and aggressively got in the face of our team's assistant coach. She immediately jumped down his throat not even knowing what the coaches were discussing since she was sitting and talking in the stands. She put her chest in his face and pointed her finger directly in his face. This all occurred right in front of where I was sitting in the stands. Her behavior was appalling and I simply said that she was be aggressive and out of control. Her reply was "Shut up". Yes the league director is not only behaving erratically but she tells a parent to shut up. I should also mention that she had already ejected the assistant coach and told him he had to leave otherwise the team forfeits. Then out of her own frustration and out of control behavior, she tells me the same thing. This was a moment where I was going to stand up for the right thing. Her reaction was totally uncalled for. Just because someone is the league director doesn't mean they are in the right. It doesn't mean they get to behave however they want. So I said that I wasn't going to leave and neither did the assistant coach. Also, the Purple coach rushed all of his players home, so that there would be no chance to resume the game. And the fact that she would even say that our team would forfeit if myself and the assistant coach wouldn't leave was totally ridiculous and it just goes to show that she did not want our team to win. Throughout the season there were things going on that parents were unaware of. For instance changing up the rules, mid game for our team only. But not enforcing the same rules on other teams. But know one knew all of that. So I find it so offensive that you would post this gossip not knowing the whole situation. I should also tell you that Kim was very good friends with the Coach of the Purple team and she had it out for our team, the Red Devil's the whole season. She wanted Justin and Coach Boggs gone. She actually said this to another coach in the league. I could go on and on about this women and all of her inappropriate behavior over the season. She used inappropriate vulgar language and she also called my husband a blatant liar because she inferred that he knew who all of the top players in the league were and he said he didn't. She was rude and did all of this in front of my 8 year old son. This woman has no business running this league. So you can blame Kim for ending your son's season a game early. Not me. Even my son, saw that Kim was wrong and said so in the car on the way home. But again...instead of knowing the facts, you post this mis information online. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I know who the real "rage monster" is here. For my own safety and the safety of others around me, I shall remain anonymous. *whoossshhhh*
