Rotisserie Chicken

Among many items in the category of "things Pete and Sam used to like" is the tasty and cheap rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. Dad had the carving down to an exact science, as can be seen. Perhaps it was the day that he perfected this bit of carving mastery that the boys announced during dinner that "we don't really like rotisserie chicken that much anymore".

OCD

Pete can be a little obsessive sometimes. He spent quite a lot of time on Saturday getting the colored pencils arranged in this order. That is great, but the bigger problem was how to put them away without losing the arrangement.

Art Creation

You can see that Sam was very happy with this little guy that he made in Mrs. Johnson's art class this year.

Trophynank

Above is Sam's trophy that he received for finishing in 2nd place in the Pinewood Derby this year. If you look closely, you will see that it says "Sam Bermanank". This was due to a printer's error because they had last year's 2nd place finisher (Dominik Blank) and typed Sam Berman over the first  10 characters but didn't bother to delete the last 3 characters - resulting in Sam Bermanank. Sam decided that he wanted to keep the trophy anyway. Dad ordered a replacement nameplate.

Sam's Lunch in 3rd Grade

With Mom working in Springfield, she was out of the door so early that Dad was in charge of making everyone's lunch. Above is a typical lunch for Sam. Note the arrangement of the lettuce, cheese, and turkey in the wrap. This was the exact ratio that was required in order for Sam to eat it.

By the end of the year, Sam did not like turkey anymore. Dad asked him years later why he stopped eating turkey sandwiches. He said "they started making it too smoky".

Crazy Hair Day

Pete definitely went all in when it was time for "crazy hair day".

The day after crazy hair day was also known as "dad scrubs pete's shirt day".

Desk in Use

Back in the days when Pete used to use his desk, occasionally he would be seen chatting with his friends using a Web Cam and Skype. This was before the days of iPhone, Snapchat, and FaceTime. In this case, they are actually even working on a homework assignment.

Steelers

Sam was still a Steelers fan in early 2013. Here he is geared up for the big playoff game against the Ravens. He even made the bracelet, which was his favorite thing for a few weeks. He would wear it every day to school.
